Retreat Part V

[Davie]...Ok.. time to conclude the retreat blogging.. thanks to all the people at camp Hiblitzelle for having us crazy folk.. we know we cannot make up our minds as to whether we want the Barn at 70 or 100 deg.. thanks for working with us.. for the foodservice folks...only 1/2 an hour late.. that's not late.. really?.. is that late?...thanks for working with us.. the food was 'Bene' ...but first things first.. So last night.. Pastor Philip and fam joined us for dinner...as you can see... we did not plan to have them..(Section Closed!).. but we accepted and went along with it..WE PRECIATE YOU!!!!
...who you talking to girl!..seriously..when they finally invent a phone that is like a hearing aid.. glued to your ear.. I'll buy you one..
...and talk about sneaking in and out.. who is this dude?..was good to see you though....
...now this ons speaks for itself...Pastor T and Jane are special...WE PRECIATE YOU TOO!..I'll show this to your son one day...lol!
... ok so only 2 people made it to prayer this morning..do NOT ever have Kungu wake up people...He knocks worse than the popo...i'm sure he left dents on the doors..but we had to close by eating the wonderful breakfast made by the foodservice folks.. I know y'all thought it was cereal when you walked in.. but wasn't that hash brown casserole just plain wonderful??? ..oh.. this picture...this has been the state of the union this whole weekend.. a whole lot of laughter, confusion and the desire for TEA... so that's why Mr Mike there is holding the flasks...
..so now it is over.. but the blessings flowed.. people got renewed.. we fellowshipped.. socialized..ate again and again and again.. and left...sounds productive huh!..Until next time.. let's all say RETREAT EEEEH!....

Retreat Part IV

[Davie] 8.04 pm...told you more was to come. This has been an interesting day... Let me start with that Hummer.. the one that Kungu has been dreaming about...yes.. this one..
thanks to B and Debbie for joining us an talking about finances.. we learnt a lot.. especially that 'Waceke' is having issues with her electric bill because she 'steams' herself 'continually'...Kungu uses his matress as a savings account...a credit score is not an integer between 1 and 10...man.. lots of things..a wonderful great learning experience...then we had to eat AGAIN...and I guess people were not hungry because this is a 3 man lunch crowd....
...did I mention that Benson joined the party at some point...thank you bro...and you kno who that hat reminds us of..
...after lunch...we decided to play ball... here is Kungu getting taught by Pam...you go girl!
...and here is Mr Mike...he was the star of team whatever...this is a pick and roll without a member of the other team threatening to take the ball away.. go figure..

by the way.. it's 8.24 pm...and Mike is preaching to us..and Tom and Dee just showed up...I can tell them we miss them but I'm sure they know it...ok.. back to the day..so Nicko joined the party...this man was sent to injure someone....
...but Kungu has him in check...it's against the rules to shove in basketball but we suspended the rules to allow for checks and balances...
...ok.. nuff about basketball.. team Jaymoh, Davie, Cathy and Edith took the gold... the others could not handle once we got hot...we had to run to the evening session...thanks to the couples who joined us and allowed us to use them for target practise...knowledge, wisdom and experience can never be overrated...a lot of stuff discussed.. we need a whole day together to really tap into all of it... but let's go on to what happened after the round-table.. we had to eat.. AGAIN...I did not want to show picture of food.. but I had to add these.. Lorna joined us..during the round table...we preciate you

ok.. Mike is preaching.. let me behave and listen.. he just told me that every relationship has a personality... we need to be effective Christians...let the fire of God be the foundation of everything...

Retreat Part III

[Davie]9.52am..Different time.. different day.. did we wake up on time for prayers?.. that's a good question by the way.. It is hard to get people to wake up by 7am..but we had a good prayer session. Breakfast was at 8am..EVERYONE made it for that..



....then the long walk back to the BARN....on your mark, get ready, ahhh.....


.....and you see what people do when they have too much energy?... and by the way.. the unknown being is Cathy... lol!

Retreat Part II

[Davie]12.15am Sleep time...well almost...some of us are still eating.. some are watching Madea...so I guess the day is over...Kungu did a marvelous job leading the people in a time of worship.. that man needs to become Pastor Kungu..I think..Cathy and company are on PST instead of CST..so they were not too late..by PST..ok.. let me stop..

Retreat Eeeh! Part I

[Davie] 9.15 pm Ok.. arrived at Hoblitzelle 1 1/2 hours ago... my people are late... but I'll forgive them.. seriously I will. Last time we were here.. we had the run of the place.. this time we might not be the biggest church party here.. but we will survive.. Pastor T is rolling in a Hummer H3 for those who are interested.. I'll take pics sometime this weekend.. Kungu arrived with chapos... I'm sure some people will think he made them... false advertising my friends...them man cannot cook.. seriously he can't ... ok.. what do i know?.. It will be a blessed weekend.. I can tell already.. stay tuned.. this is my version of events.. I'm sure some other people will have opinions too..

Condolences

[Davie] I just wanted to express sincere condolences to those families that lost someone in the Kenya Airways place crash. May God give them strength in this sad time.
